This online course is designed for yoga teachers who want to learn more about the theory and practice of creating and delivering dharma talks. Teachers who participate in this course will earn FIVE non-contact Yoga Alliance-approved CEUs. And the best news? It's all online. And a portion of the course is even available via podcast. So you can sit under the bodhi tree, at your convenience, with your laptop and headphones and learn without having to commute, spend a fortune, or carve out a full weekend for training.
What will you learn?
Getting in front of a group of students who are hanging on to your every word--and trusting your every word--can be intimidating. But designing and delivering dharma talks doesn't have to be stressful! Through this course, you will learn ways to develop your dharma talks with a little effort and plenty of ease. And you might even learn that giving a dharma talk isn't for you! And that's okay. This course will also explore ways to theme your class with or without the classic dharma talk.
Over the course of four learning modules and a final assessment, you will leave this course knowing the basics of the dharma talk, skills to prepare theme and intention in class, methods of integrating theme throughout your class, and tips and tricks for speaking in public. Not only will you learn information, in each module, you will have exercises and tangible methods to employ in your yoga classes RIGHT NOW!
Why should you take it?
Yoga teachers must always remain in the seat of the student. To continually refine our own practice and teaching methods not only improves our own understanding of yoga, it serves our students as well. There are endless asana labs and anatomy workshops. But one area that we forget about as teachers is...teaching. And we often forget that teaching isn't just cues and alignment. This course, like most courses through Rebecca Warfield Yoga & Wellness will explore pedagogical practices that move beyond the physical practice and into teaching methodologies inspired by tried and true educational methods.
